Sub : Officiating arrangements in the cadre of Sr.Postmaster – short term and long term arrangements – Madurai HO / Tallakulam HO.

This is regarding officiating arrangements in the cadre of Sr. Post Master Madurai HO / Tallakulam HO. Tallkulam HO and Madurai HO are Gazetted HOs and are manned by IPO line Group ‘B’ officers. The officiating arrangements in these vacant posts have to be made among IP cadre. But in these two HOs only the services of LSG official are utilized for short term / long term vacancies.  This is highly irregular. These posts are IPO line but these post are ordered to be manned by General Line LSG Official.

There are no HSG I official in Madurai Division. Hence it is requested that ASP cadre official may be ordered to officiated in Short Term / Long Term vacancies.

LSG official could not discharge the duties and responsibilities of a Senior Post Master. It is unlawful and illegal,
